Job summary

University at Buffalo's Department of Surgery seeks a Medical Student Clerkship Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operations of undergraduate medical education clerkships and electives across clinical learning environments.

The coordinator serves as the liaison among students, faculty, residents, clinical sites, and administrative offices to support curriculum delivery and assessment, including NBME proctoring, evaluations, and accreditation materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with students, faculty, residents, and staff.
• High attention to detail and discretion with confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn UBLearns, MedHub, and e-Passport.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to support exams and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage student rotation placements and schedules.
• Coordinate onboarding requirements for clinical sites.
• Maintain didactic schedules, syllabi, course materials, announcements.
• Coordinate clerkship simulations and OSCE rosters with the simulation center.
• Proctor and support NBME shelf examinations.
• Manage evaluations in MedHub.
• Track Required Clinical Experiences and e-Passport completion.
• Assist with final grade form preparation and accreditation data.
• Monitor action items through completion.
