Job summary

Harlingen Medical Center is seeking a Medical Staff Assistant to support the Medical Staff Services department in Harlingen, TX. This full-time role covers day shifts and includes handling general office tasks and credentialing support for medical staff.

The ideal candidate will have at least a High School Diploma, 1-2 years in healthcare office work, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Prior knowledge of medical terminology is preferred and a college degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required for all new hires starting 4/1/2014.
• 1-2 years in general or healthcare office, preferred.
• Strong experience in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint, preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical staff services department and/or acute care hospital experience, preferred.
• College degree, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general office and clerical duties for the Medical Staff Office.
• Assist with medical staff credentialing and related documentation.
• Prepare materials and provide support for medical staff meetings.
• Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential records.
• Support supervisors and coordinators with daily departmental needs.
