Job description

The Medical Scribe is responsible for documenting patient data into electronic health records and assisting with patient care and administrative tasks in clinics to enhance provider efficiency and productivity.

This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday) working three 10-hour days and two 5-hour days across our locations in Blaine, Brooklyn Park, Coon Rapids, Otsego, and Plymouth.

Twin Cities Orthopedics, part of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), is a group of local medical practices owned and led by physicians, committed to empowering patients in their healthcare journey.

Essential Functions:
  • Document patient data during visits alongside providers
  • Ensure accuracy of entered information
  • Follow coding requirements during data entry
  • Retrieve relevant patient data as needed
  • Assist with preparation, stocking, and cleaning of exam rooms
  • Support patient rooming, data compilation, and preparation for procedures like x-rays
  • Assist with information gathering during visits and surgical x-ray procurement
  • Handle applications and removals of casts, obtain provider approval for prescriptions, and communicate with pharmacies
  • Prepare for injections, change dressings, apply medical equipment, and assist with sutures/staples removal under supervision
  • Act as a delegate for entering medical orders into the CPOE system under provider supervision
  • Manage medical supply inventory and assist with paperwork such as disability forms and referrals
  • Return patient phone calls and schedule imaging studies and injections
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments (preferred)
