Cassia, a leading provider of senior care and services,has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistance Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will assist residents and families with Medical Assistance (MA) application procedures. You will play a critical role in helping ensure compliance, timeliness, and accuracy of MA application submissions and follow-ups.

Our ideal candidate should have 3+ years’ experience with MA application processing as well as knowledge of regulations and privacy laws. Based at our Edina, MN corporate office, you will enjoy a welcoming environment with supportive leadership and a friendly teamwho are dedicated to the well-being of our residents.

This is a Full-Time, benefit eligible position with the potential to work remotely with a hybrid schedule after training is completed.

Pay rate: $45,000 to $55,000depending on experience

Medical Assistance Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents and families with Medical Assistance application procedures.
  • Provide education to residents and families on MA coverage, spend-downs and responsibilities.
  • Verify that applications have been submitted by deadlines set by county
  • Maintain status records of all residents on Aging reports as MA pending.
  • Notify AR billing and collection staff as needed
  • Maintain tracking records for all accounts assigned
  • Maintain positive working relationships with county case workers.
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned

Medical Assistance Specialist Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience MA application processing
  • Proficient with word-processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Must be familiar with Accounts Receivable software.
  • Strong understanding of MA regulations and privacy laws
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
