Job summary

Boulder Centre for Orthopedics is seeking a part-time Medical Scribe for onsite hours in Boulder, CO. You will document visits, manage records, and support clinicians to ensure efficient patient care.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least one year in a medical setting, knowledge of medical terminology, strong data-entry skills, and the ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality while communicating clearly in English.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments.
• HIPAA confidentiality standards when accessing patient information.
• Ability to comprehend complex medical information and summarize it clearly.
• Proficient in data entry, email communication, and English composition.
• Typing speed of 40+ WPM.
• Ability to apply common sense to written or oral instructions and problem-solve.
• Professional image and effective written/oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Document medical visits and procedures performed by physicians.
• Research contact information for referring physicians and coordinate referrals.
• Identify and correct mistakes or inconsistencies in medical documentation.
• Ensure accurate recording of clinical data, lab results, and interpretations.
• Comply with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
• Assist in data collection for physician quality reporting and other projects.
• Help track patient follow-up and compliance.
• Attend trainings on IT, legal, HIPAA, billing and coding.
• Proofread and edit physician documents for accuracy.
