Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Medical Scribe to document patient encounters in real time and organize health data for efficient clinical care. You will assist with EMR navigation and ensure confidentiality under HIPAA during exams.

The position is part-time, 19 hours per week, with day shifts in clinic hours. Training is provided; experience in a medical setting is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience OR science-related education.

  • Documents name and signature on all transcribed services.
  • Assist the provider in navigating the EMR.

Complies with HIPAA confidentiality standards whenaccessing or communicating patient information.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Captures an accurate and detailed description of patientencounters with a provider and enters into the electronic medicalrecord (EMR).
  • Documents name and signature on all transcribed services.
  • Assist the provider in navigating the EMR.
  • Locate information in EMR for physician review.
  • Documents the name of the provider rendering the service and sends documentation to that provider for attestation and signature.
