Job Description Summary

Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist qualified donors in completing screening procedures, including health history assessment, medical questions, and health screening tests such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature, and finger stick for hematocrit and protein levels.
  2. Educate new donors about plasma products, screening process, tests, policies, nutrition, and answer questions professionally.
  3. Register donors and transfer donors as needed after training.
  4. Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
  5. Monitor donors during and after donation for reactions and notify staff if needed.
  6. Report donor flow issues to supervisors.
  7. Accurately record donor data in electronic systems according to SOPs.
  8. Understand policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
  9. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following safety policies and promoting safety.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
  11. Cross-train in other areas as needed.
  12. Utilize bilingual skills if required to meet organizational needs.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three months experience in clerical, customer service, or medical environment, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Basic math skills.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to follow instructions and observe safety protocols.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and observe equipment.
  • Ability to stand and walk frequently, reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Fast-paced environment with exposure to hazards and bloodborne pathogens.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Extended hours and overtime may be necessary.
