The Opportunity
Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.

The Role

• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process, including health history assessment, medical questions, and health screening procedures like blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature, and finger stick for hematocrit and protein levels.
• Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products, screening process, health tests, appointment system, donation fees, policies, nutrition, and address donor questions.
• Register applicants and transfer donors as trained and needed.
• Answer phone calls and direct callers appropriately.
• Monitor donors during and after pheresis for reactions and notify staff if needed.
• Report donor flow issues to supervisors.
• Accurately record donor data in the electronic system per SOPs.
• Understand policies related to hyperimmune programs if applicable.
• Maintain a clean work environment and ensure supplies are available.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three months experience in clerical, customer service, or medical environment or equivalent.
• Basic math skills required.

Working Conditions

• Follow instructions and guidelines.
• Must see and speak with customers, observe equipment.
• Stand and walk up to 100% of the time.
• Reach, bend, kneel, manual dexterity required.
• Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Fast-paced, with interruptions.
• Exposure to chemicals, temperatures, bloodborne pathogens.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Work overtime and extended hours as needed.
