Job summary

Koch Foods, Inc. in Bryant, AL is hiring a Safety Officer responsible for first aid, injury treatment, and keeping confidential medical records. The role includes daily safety inspections to ensure compliance and coordination of post-offer drug testing and hearing tests.

You will lead monthly safety meetings, maintain OSHA standards, and apply strong organizational and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced, manufacturing setting while upholding confidentiality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• EMT license required.
• CPR and Basic First Aid certification required.
• OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 certifications preferred.
• Safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and treat work-related injuries; maintain medical records.
• Perform daily safety inspections to ensure safety compliance.
• Schedule and conduct monthly safety meetings.
• Conduct post-offer drug testing and schedule hearing tests as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of medical records and handle related duties.

Requirements

Physical Requirements

• Frequent utilization of office equipment and/or computers.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Exposure to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
• Ability to stand and/or walk throughout shift.
• Exposure to heat (99°F, 37°C) and cold (45°F, 4°C).
• Expose to wet and cold environment.
• Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
