Job summary

Affinity Health Center in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to ensure accurate, complete patient records and secure handling of referrals. You will scan, organize, and manage records while supporting continuity of care for our community.

Strong attention to detail and privacy compliance are essential. Experience with EMR systems and medical terminology is preferred; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with medical records and referral processes preferred.
• Understanding of continuity of care and the importance of complete documentation.
• Comfort using EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update patient records with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Scan, upload, and organize documents in the electronic medical record system.
• Support referral processes by preparing, tracking, and managing referral documentation.
• Help ensure continuity of care by making records available to providers and outside partners as needed.
• Process medical record requests while following all privacy rules.
• Communicate clearly with staff, patients, and referral partners.
• Track and manage records to meet deadlines and support care coordination.
• Protect patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
