Job summary

Clarion Psychiatric Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to organize and maintain patient health records and ensure HIPAA compliance. You will retrieve records for providers, patients, and staff, and assist with confidential document handling and form completion.

The role requires knowledge of ICD-10-CM and DSM-V coding, chart abstraction, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate; Medical Records/HIM experience required.
• Completion of a Medical Coding course is required; CPC certification upon completion.
• Three years’ experience in Health Information Management preferred.
• Knowledge of DSM-V and ICD-10-CM coding and ability to abstract charts.
• Proficient in computer applications and MS products.

Responsibilities

• Chart assembly and analysis.
• Code using ICD-10-CM and DSM-V.
• Abstracting.
• Assist with performance improvement studies.
• Filing and record review.
• Respond to internal and external customer inquiries.
