Doctors of Physical Therapy is seeking a full-time Billing Claims Specialist to join our growing rehabilitation team in Plainfield, IL. This role focuses on accurate medical record handling and fee-related claims within a fast-paced healthcare setting.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. This non-remote position requires reliability and a customer-focused approach to ensure timely processing of requests.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Process outgoing medical record requests accurately.
• Retrieve records from EMR systems and provider portals.
• Review records for completeness before submission.
• Respond to internal departments, payers, attorneys, patients, and others.
• Follow up on outstanding requests and update status.
• Maintain tracking of requested, received and submitted records.
• Ensure HIPAA and privacy compliance for all records.
• Protect patient confidentiality and PHI integrity.
• Communicate with clinics to resolve missing or incorrect docs.
• Manage queues and communications to meet timeframes.
• Escalate delays to leadership when needed.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards for the department.
