Job summary

Park View Post Acute in Santa Rosa, CA seeks a Medical Records Technician to manage the facility's records, ensure compliance with Federal, State, and accrediting bodies, and support daily operations. You will develop filing, indexing, and retrieval procedures, review discharge and nursing unit records, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate with inter-department staff to resolve record-related issues.

A High school diploma and medical records training are preferred, with English fluency

Qualifications

• Must write, read, speak, and comprehend English.

• Ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, tools, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of maintenance work areas.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the medical records section.
• Establish procedures for collection, coding, indexing, and filing/retrieving medical records.
• Review discharge and death records and nursing unit records.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Prepare medical records for court trials and for committee reviews as directed.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with inter-department staff to ensure proper record maintenance.
