Brightli is seeking a Medical Record Specialist to acquire and manage medical records from hospitals and providers. You will coordinate communications for the HIM department, verify batches, and ensure continuity of care documentation in the client’s EHR. Attention to detail and privacy are essential.
The role involves handling release of information, responding to requests, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain accurate records across systems.
The Medical Record Specialist is responsible for acquiring medical records and treatment information from area hospitals / providers. Monitors and maintains all communication for enterprise Health Information Management (HIM) department including phones, faxes and emails. Daily tasks include but are not limited to; HIM phone bank coverage; daily verification of “Batches” received from clinical sites; monitoring outstanding hospital discharge information; communicating with the System’s clinics to ensure that continuity of care documentation is available in the client’s Electronic Health Record (EHR); supplying back-fill for HIM department needs.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work is performed in an office, clinical, residential, and/or community-based environment depending on role and assignment. The position may involve routine use of office, clinical, or electronic systems and equipment. Duties may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and working at a computer. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts based on program needs. This position is classified as sedentary work. Sedentary work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
