Job summary

Brightli is seeking a Medical Record Specialist to acquire and manage medical records from hospitals and providers. You will coordinate communications for the HIM department, verify batches, and ensure continuity of care documentation in the client’s EHR. Attention to detail and privacy are essential.

The role involves handling release of information, responding to requests, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain accurate records across systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years in medical records management or related field.
• Proficient with medical terminology.
• Strong data entry and computer skills.
• HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prompt and compliant retrieval of medical records.
• Respond to requests for information and documents within required timeframes.
• Manage department email groups and communications.
• Coordinate with hospitals/clinics to ensure records availability in the EHR.
• Update and review records; notify providers of deficiencies.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and security of PHI.
