Job summary

Apache Junction Health Center is seeking a dedicated Medical Records Clerk to support the records department and ensure accurate filing and privacy compliance. You will organize, index, file and retrieve charts, while assisting the MDS Coordinator with assessments and scheduling.

The role requires meticulous record-keeping, familiarity with health information privacy rules, and the ability to work across departments to maintain orderly resident files.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Typing a minimum of 45 words per minute and use of dictation equipment.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology and legal aspects of health information.

Responsibilities

• Receive, organize, plan and direct the medical records department per policies and procedures.
• Maintain minutes of meetings and file as necessary.
• Index, file, and retrieve resident charts and records as required.
• Assist in scheduling assessments with the MDS Coordinator.
• Ensure records are complete, accurate and properly secured.
