Medical Records Health Information Specialist (QMA or LPN)

We rely on and trust our Medical Records - Health Information Specialist (QMA or LPN) to be responsible for maintaining the medical records according to established standards and policies, as well as with state and federal regulations.

Full-time position – 40 hours per week

Must have weekend availability and will be on the on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all medical records in designated areas in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Prepare admission packets and establish medical files
• Maintain open charts by filing all clinical documentation daily as it is received
• Monitor and audit records for completeness and accuracy at assigned intervals
• Process, transfer, and discharge records; maintain appropriate records on discharged residents, including preparation of bereavement files if applicable
• Prepare reports as directed and inform center or agency leadership of any deficiencies in documentation

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a QMA or LPN
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• At least one year of previous clerical experience, preferably in a medical setting
• Capable of maintaining regular attendance
