You will collect demographics, assign record numbers, verify data, and file records in a compliant, timely manner. A high school diploma or equivalent and strong English literacy are required; long-term care experience is a plus.

• Must read, write, and understand English.
• Background in healthcare or medical records is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient information by collecting demographic information from a variety of sources; interacting with registration areas and physicians' offices; retrieving information from automated printer.
• Maintains, files, and retrieves medical records following quality, safety, and security procedures.
• Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
