Job summary

Westgate Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Bangor, ME seeks a Medical Records Clerk to ensure accurate documentation, storage, and updates of residents' medical records in line with regulatory standards.

You will collaborate with healthcare and administrative staff, maintain electronic and paper records, assist with supplies, and act as a liaison with vendors to support a compliant, organized records environment for our aging residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in health information management preferred.
• Prior experience in medical records management, preferably in long-term care or healthcare.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and healthcare documentation standards.
• Experience ordering supplies and compiling purchase orders.

Responsibilities

• Verify information and resolve discrepancies to ensure accuracy of medical records.
• Compile, organize, and maintain residents' medical records in electronic and paper formats.
• Keep Central Supply stocked and units stocked.
• Order supplies and prepare purchase orders.
• Serve as liaison between Nursing Department and vendors.
• Audit charting timeliness by physicians, therapists, nurses, and notify appropriate staff.
