Clearview Cancer Institute is seeking a Medical Records Clerk for its north Alabama outpatient facility. The role focuses on maintaining patient records, scanning documents, and ensuring HIPAA-compliant handling of information.

Responsibilities include daily provider schedule pulls, EMR updates, and timely reporting to physicians, with no patient contact in this position. Strong detail orientation and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality of medical records.
• Pull provider schedules daily, checking patient charts for current and accurate information.
• Request, collect, and scan required patient paperwork prior to patient appointments.
• Scans incoming paperwork according to providers assigned.
• Email provider team each day prior to 2pm with notification of outstanding reports including no shows, reschedules for scan, bx, etc.
• Updates Onco EMR database when needed.
• Scan information from progress notes, labs, pathology, imaging and correspondence into patient charts.
• Release information to requesting parties following established medical records policy and procedures.
• Fax physicians orders, send records for outgoing referrals, answer incoming departmental phone calls, handle all in-house requests for records.
