Job summary

Wesley Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Medical Records Specialist to support HIM operations, including HPF/MPF workflows, scanning, and birth certificate processing. You will be the primary contact when the HIM Director is unavailable and help ensure accurate records management across departments.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, confidentiality, and effective communication with medical staff and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Hospital or medical office experience preferred, but not required.
• Certification programs for birth certificate processing may be required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves discharged medical records and reconciles them.
• Facilitates retrieval/printing of records and archival storage.
• Assists with physician suspension processes as needed.
• Prepares medical records for scanning and indexes documentation.
• Performs paper-to-digital validation for scanned records.
• Interacts with parents to collect birth information and assist with forms.
