Yale New Haven Health Urgent Care is hiring a Medical Receptionist to support front desk operations across CT and NY, including a new center in New Canaan. You will handle phone reception, patient sign-in, insurance verification, and co-pay collection while maintaining accurate charts in the EMR system.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or GED preferred but not required.
• 2 years' experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance and workers' comp billing information.
• Ability to multi-task in a busy healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with EHR and EMR records systems.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and greet patients at the front desk, manage sign-in/out, and verify insurance information.
• Input patient demographics and appointments into the EMR system; verify coverage and authorize workers' comp when applicable.
• Collect co-pays and other payments; issue receipts and manage patient accounts.
• Create and maintain patient charts, retrieve records, and handle general filing per policy.
• Keep the waiting area clean, organized, and welcoming during business hours.
