The Medical Receptionist, Urgent Care provides reception and clerical services under the supervision of the practice manager and physicians for patients and visitors. Responsibilities include billing, collections, referrals, appointments, patient contact, and general secretarial duties. Must be willing to travel within 30 minutes of your home and float to various locations.

The Urgent Care Group has about 20 Providers, rotating among all offices. The Brick location employs 17 staff members. All employees should be able to travel to all locations, including Jackson, Tom River, Forked River, and LBI, though this is infrequent.

This is a Per Diem position working 16-24 hours per week. Schedules are provided 4 weeks in advance, requiring flexibility to accommodate our 7-day operation, with hours between 8 am and 8 pm, including alternating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Answer and direct communication courteously, adhering to HIPAA and office policies.
  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, making them feel welcome.
  • Assist with patient sign-in and respond promptly to needs.
  • Support financial tasks such as verifying insurance, billing, and collections.
  • Manage office supplies and equipment, notifying management when low.
  • Handle patient check-in and check-out processes accurately and courteously.
  • Promote patient satisfaction through excellent service and communication.
  • Maintain organized record systems and manage patient records.
  • Adapt work schedule to practice needs, including cross-covering and additional hours as needed.
  • Serve as a pre-loader for our EMR system and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt, and work collaboratively with a focus on patient care.
  • Must be able to travel to multiple locations.
Preferred
  • Previous receptionist or clerical experience in a medical setting.
  • Experience with Epic software.
Certifications
  • CPR certification preferred.
