Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role within a healthcare environment is essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
  • Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to engage empathetically with patients and address their needs effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Proven ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced remote setting.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of medical terminology, insurance processes, and patient registration protocols to ensure smooth operations.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and documentation, with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Shift Flexibility: Flexibility to cover additional shifts as needed with prior notice, including availability to work Saturday mornings to support the team and patient needs.

Core responsibilities:

  • Appointment Management: Schedule and manage patient appointments, including new visits and follow-ups, ensuring optimal coordination with healthcare providers schedules.
  • Patient Registration: As directed, collect and verify patient demographic information, medical history, and insurance details during the registration process to ensure accurate records.
  • Communication: Respond to incoming calls and emails, providing assistance with inquiries related to appointments, billing, and general patient support in a professional manner.
  • Insurance Verification: As directed, verify patients' insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments, communicating any financial responsibilities to patients clearly.
  • Medical Records Maintenance: Ensure the accurate and timely updating of electronic medical records (EMR), maintaining confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative tasks as needed, including processing documents and managing correspondence to support the healthcare team.
