The
Medical Receptionist, Urgent Care provides reception and clerical services under the supervision of the practice manager and physicians, including billing, collections, referrals, appointments, patient contact, and secretarial duties. Willingness to travel within 30 minutes and float to various locations is required.
The Urgent Care group has about 20 providers rotating among all offices. The Brick location has 17 staff members. All employees should be able to travel to all locations, including Jackson, Tom River, Forked River, and LBI, though this is infrequent.
This is a Per Diem position, working 16-24 hours weekly, with a schedule provided 4 weeks in advance. Flexibility is needed for hours between 8 am and 8 pm, Monday through Sunday, including alternating weekends and holidays.
ResponsibilitiesAs a
Medical Receptionist, your day includes:
- Handling communication courteously, adhering to HIPAA and office policies.
- Greeting patients and visitors warmly and assisting with check-in processes.
- Supporting financial processes, verifying insurance, and managing billing and collections.
- Monitoring supplies and equipment, and managing patient records and documentation.
- Providing excellent customer service, ensuring patient satisfaction, and maintaining accurate records.
- Adapting work schedules to practice needs and serving as a pre-loader for EMR systems.
- Performing other duties as assigned, adhering to organizational standards.
QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to learn quickly, work collaboratively, and deliver high-quality patient care.
- Willingness to travel to various locations.
Preferred qualifications include prior clerical experience, Epic system familiarity, and CPR certification.
