American Family Care is actively seeking a Medical Receptionist to serve as the face of our clinics, handling insurance verification, patient billing, and front desk operations with a patient-first approach.

You will verify coverage before visits, explain costs to patients, manage payments, and ensure accurate records while upholding HIPAA standards. This role supports AFC’s mission across our nationwide urgent care network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• X-Ray Tech, Medical Assistant or related certification is a plus.
• Experience in insurance verification and medical billing required or strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA and patient confidentiality is expected.

Responsibilities

• Master Insurance Verification: verify coverage before services and prevent denials.
• Excel at Financial Counseling: explain costs and billing clearly to patients.
• Solve Billing Problems: identify and resolve insurance discrepancies proactively.
• Drive Patient Satisfaction: maintain service quality during difficult conversations.
• Be the Face of AFC: greet patients with warmth and professionalism.
• Own the Front Desk Flow: manage payments, appointments, and check-ins efficiently.
• Protect Patient Information: maintain HIPAA-compliant records.
