Responsibilities

• Welcome all visitors in person and answer the telephone promptly.
• Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying providers of patient arrivals as needed.
• Comfort patients by anticipating concerns and answering questions; help patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
• Collect payment at time of service and record and update financial information at each appointment, including patient balances and account updates.
• Obtain insurance changes and provide documentation and consistent communication to the billing department.
• Maintain office inventory, order supplies, verify receipt of supplies, schedule equipment service and repairs, and keep the reception area clean and tidy.
• Protect patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
