Summary

The Medical Receptionist is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. The role involves cross-training in all front desk duties including check-in, check-out, chart prep, and operator tasks. The candidate should represent the practice professionally, be flexible, and possess strong customer service skills. Travel to all offices may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and managing patient information.
  • Answering calls, assisting patients, and forwarding messages.
  • Reminding patients about portal use, bringing insurance cards, and managing referrals.
  • Utilizing White Book as a daily resource and staying informed about managed care plans.
  • Maintaining the reception area and participating in staff meetings.
  • Ensuring compliance with HIPAA and office policies.
  • Performing check-in, check-out, operator, chart prep, and floater duties as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong communication skills with professionalism and respect.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Motivation to learn.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

Additional Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, and basic math skills.
  • Reasoning ability to follow instructions and solve problems.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Moderate noise level in a typical office setting.
