Summary

The Medical Receptionist is a full-time, 40 hours/week hourly position. Responsibilities include front desk duties such as check-in, check-out, chart prep, operator tasks, and more. Must be flexible and possess strong customer satisfaction skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient information in the computer system.
  • Answer incoming calls, assist with scheduling, and relay messages.
  • Remind patients about portal access, bring insurance cards, and manage referrals.
  • Utilize and update White Book as a daily resource.
  • Stay informed about managed care plans and referral requirements.
  • Manage chart numbers/EHR and maintain reception area cleanliness.
  • Participate in staff meetings and comply with HIPAA and office policies.
  • Provide positive, professional assistance at check-in, check-out, operator, chart prep, and floater roles.
Requirements
  • Strong communication skills with professionalism and respect.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Motivated to learn.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

Additional Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Google programs.
  • Basic math skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, especially with money.
  • Ability to follow instructions and solve problems.
Other Details

This role does not require specific certificates or licenses. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. Work environment is moderate noise.
