Position Summary

As a Medical Receptionist, you will make a difference in patients' lives by communicating clearly, maintaining accurate medical records, and providing attentive service. This role requires high attention to detail and patient focus.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Maintain patient charts and filing systems, generate chart numbers, and manage documents.
  • Answer calls, respond to inquiries, direct callers, or initiate triage slips.
  • Schedule appointments and update the computerized scheduler.
  • Greet and direct patients, visitors, and salespeople.
  • Verify and register patient information for accuracy and currency.
  • Coordinate referrals through insurance and other physician offices.
  • Handle payments and reconcile daily cash reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year in a fast-paced environment focusing on patient care or customer service.
  • Healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of medical office software and data entry is preferred.
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Regular use of hands for handling and feeling.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
