Job summary

Montage Health is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to manage physician office activities, including scheduling all in-office appointments (New Patient, post-op, pre-op) and coordinating referrals and authorizations. You will verify insurance eligibility, maintain patient demographics, and ensure required pre-certifications are in place.

The role requires strong communication with physicians, patients, and staff, meticulous handling of calls and messages, and adherence to privacy and safety

Qualifications

• 1-2 years in administrative, office, hospitality, customer service, or medical office work.
• Familiar with CPT and ICD-10 codes; understands medical insurance processes.
• HIPAA knowledge is preferred but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; well-organized and detail-oriented.
• Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute; proficient with Microsoft applications; EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all in-office appointments, including New Patient, post-op, and pre-op.
• Provide back-up coverage for coworkers and physicians as needed.
• Review referrals and obtain authorizations when required; verify insurance eligibility and pre-certifications.
• Maintain patient demographics and ensure radiology tests and operative reports are received prior to appointments.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and staff; manage voicemail, messages, faxes, and referrals.
