Premise Health Inc. is hiring a PRN Medical Office Receptionist for our Health Center in Utica, IL. You will manage front-desk tasks, greet patients, schedule appointments, handle calls, and coordinate referrals.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in front-desk/customer service, and preferred medical office experience. Part-time/PRN schedule with benefits and a potential move to full-time are noted.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and maintains filing for patient charts, generates chart numbers and pulls charts.
• Answers calls, directs callers or initiates triage slips for medical staff.
• Schedules appointments and logs them in the scheduler.
• Performs patient reminder calls and greets visitors.
• Registers patients and updates records in the system.
• Coordinates referrals through insurance or other offices.
• Prepares billings in the computer system for processing by finance.
• Collects payments and reconciles daily cash reports.
• Looks for ways to improve quality and accuracy.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving and information-gathering skills.
• Maintains professionalism and respectful conduct at all times.
• Shows strong customer service orientation and handles difficult situations.

PRN Medical Office Receptionist, you’ll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Center located in Utica, IL.

Schedule

• PRN as Needed During Clinic Hours
• Clinic Hours: Mon, Wed, Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; Tue & Thu 10:00 am - 7:00 pm
• POTENTIAL to turn into Full-time Role

What You’ll Do

• Organizesand maintains a filing system for patient charts, including generating chart numbers, filing, and pulling charts
• Answers telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel, or initiates a triage slip for response by medical personnel
• Schedules appointments and enters appointment date and time into computerized scheduler.
• Conducts reminder calls to all patients
• Greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors
• Registers patients by verifying that patient’s record is up to date and accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient’s chart
• Coordinates referrals for patients through insurance and other physician offices or specialists
• Prepares all billings in computerized system for processing by finance
• Collects payment from patients and reconciles daily cash reports
• Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
• Ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner; gathering and analyzing information skillfully, developing alternate solutions
• Exceptional interpersonal skills; listening skills are essential while remaining open to other ideas and trying new things
• Conducts self with professionalism and in a tactful manner, treating others with respect and consideration

What You’ll Bring

• At least 3 year experience in a front desk/customer service related field required
• Experience in a medical office preferred
