Job summary

Premise Health is seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Receptionist to support client employees at our Health Center in McLean, VA. The role handles front-desk duties, scheduling, patient check-in, and basic billing in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

You will manage patient flow, coordinate referrals, and answer inquiries with a professional, courteous approach. The position offers full-time hours, competitive benefits, and opportunities for growth within Premise Health.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school with concentration in front office support for medical settings preferred.
  • At least 3 years experience in a front desk/customer service-related field required.
  • Experience in a medical office preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and maintains a filing system for patient charts.
  • Answers telephone and triages inquiries or directs callers.
  • Schedules and logs appointments in the scheduler.
  • Conducts reminder calls to patients.
  • Greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors.
  • Registers patients and updates records in the system.
  • Coordinates referrals through insurance and other physician offices.
  • Prepares billings in the computerized system.
  • Collects payments and reconciles daily cash reports.
  • Seeks quality improvements and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Identifies and solves problems in a timely manner with data-driven analysis.
  • Maintains professionalism and respectful conduct.
  • Follows through on commitments.
  • Demonstrates strong customer service and handles difficult situations.

As a Full Time Medical Office Receptionist, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in McLean, VA.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:30a - 5:00p

No nights! No Weekends!

What You’ll Do
  • Organizesand maintains a filing system for patient charts, including generating chart numbers, filing, and pulling charts
  • Answers telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel, or initiates a triage slip for response by medical personnel
  • Schedules appointments and enters appointment date and time into computerized scheduler.
  • Conducts reminder calls to all patients
  • Greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors
  • Registers patients by verifying that patient's record is up to date and accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient's chart
  • Coordinates referrals for patients through insurance and other physician offices or specialists
  • Prepares all billings in computerized system for processing by finance
  • Collects payment from patients and reconciles daily cash reports
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner; gathering and analyzing information skillfully, developing alternate solutions
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; listening skills are essential while remaining open to other ideas and trying new things
  • Conducts self with professionalism and in a tactful manner, treating others with respect and consideration
  • Follows through on commitments
  • Strong customer service orientation, responding quickly and appropriately to customer needs, and managing difficult or emotional situations

Premise provides its reasonable and genuinely expected range of compensation for this job of $19.20 - $24.00 per hour. A number of factors will influence the rate offered for this position, including your experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors.
