Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Medical Office Specialist to provide clinical and medical office support to physicians and surgeons, assisting in patient care and administrative duties essential to delivering quality patient care.

The role supports the health team in direct patient care under supervision of an RN/LPN or MD, participates in patient flow, room setup, vital signs, specimen handling, scheduling, insurance verification, data entry in EMR and chart management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience as a medical assistant preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Licensed/Credentialed as a phlebotomist or EKG tech preferred.

Responsabilités

• Monitor patient flow in waiting areas and assist with registration and post-visit processing.
• Set up examination rooms and prepare instruments per infection control policies.
• Take and monitor vital signs; perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing as ordered.
