Tenet Physician Resources in El Paso, TX, seeks a non-exempt Medical Office Front Desk Clerk to handle patient check-ins, scheduling, insurance verification, and referrals in a physician practice.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma/GED required with completion medical office assistant program preferred.
• Certification: Prefer healthcare management/administration certification.
• Experience: Two years of customer service experience, preferably in a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients entering the physician practice.
• Answer office phones, make appointments, confirm appointments and reschedule when necessary.
• Check in patients and collect accurate patient demographics, enter data into electronic system and verify insurance.
• Assist in checking out patients and assist with referral processing and scheduling.
• Collect co-pays and post charges.
• Charge entry and patient balance processing.
• Distribute information to patients regarding office policies and the practice.
• Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal.
