Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate.
• 1–3 years of general or medical office experience; health insurance experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer, basic typing and data entry skills.
• Experience with Excel, email and online insurance verification.
• Self-motivated and self-directed; dependable with strong organizational and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• To financially secure the visit, verify insurance eligibility and ensure authorizations and referrals are in place for services rendered.
• Collect copay due and estimated patient portion based on benefits and contractual reimbursement, as well as prior balances.
• Performs financial assessment for appropriate program assistance.
• Communicates purpose of and obtains patient or guardian signatures on necessary clinic and hospital documents.
• Ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations and required forms (CMS MSPQ, HOPD Consent to Treat, etc.).
• Represents Christus St. Vincent Medical Group professionally at all times.
• Assists hospital in case of internal or external disasters and supports department scheduling and workload management.
• Completes required associate training and maintains established standard processes.
• Coordinates and communicates workflow to manage fluctuating volumes and provide feedback for education needs.
