Job summary

Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center is seeking an MRI technologist for night shifts. You will operate MRI scanners, monitor patient safety and comfort, and ensure high-quality images. The role may include administering gadolinium contrast and data entry into the exam system.

The position offers a 0.90 FTE, 3-12 hour weekend shifts, and a $2.50/hour night differential plus a weekend incentive. ARRT/ARMRIT registration and BLS are required prior to orientation.

  • BLS certification required prior to orientation.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners. Monitor patient safety and comfort, and view images of area being scanned to ensure quality of pictures. May administer gadolinium contrast dosage intravenously. May interview patient, explain MRI procedures, and position patient on examining table. May enter into the computer data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) and registered or registry eligible in MRI.
  • AHA BLS required prior to orientation completion
