Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in New Jersey is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory care teams. You will greet patients, assist with rooming, vitals, documentation, and use EMR and MyChart to manage records and communications.

The position involves vaccine administration, specimen collection, and collaboration with physicians to support the full patient care continuum. High school diploma required; NJ medical assisting certification and BLS/CPR preferred.

Qualifications

Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office.
EKG, vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience.
Epic experience preferred.
High school diploma or GED.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting education program and NJ certification.

Responsibilities

Greets patients and guests using AIDET and provides excellent service experience.
Performs administrative duties in ambulatory settings including rooming, vitals, and documentation.
Completes work in the EMR, in-baskets, MyChart messaging, and documents in the medical record.
Obtains reports, results, and medical records; completes insurance forms and precertifications and/or authorizations.
May assist with appointments across the healthcare continuum.
Administers vaccines and documents appropriately.
May collect specimens and handle per established protocols.
Assists physicians with monitoring and reporting lab results.
Maintains regulatory standards and communicates with multidisciplinary team.
May be asked to work at other ambulatory offices based on volume.
Other duties as assigned by the manager.
