Honeycomb Management Group LLC is seeking a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to support healthcare providers with direct patient care across multiple locations in Mississippi and Tennessee.

The MOA role requires a minimum of five years of medical office experience, strong medical terminology knowledge, and excellent communication, organizational, and patient-centered skills to ensure efficient clinic operations and compliant patient records.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and prepares medical records for patient exams.
  • Greet and check-in patients; verify information.
  • Perform clerical duties and manage admin tasks during admin-time.
  • Schedule appointments in the EMR system.
  • Update patient insurance information.
  • Request, locate, and maintain office/patient records.
  • Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism with patients and staff.
  • Ensure forms are completed at check-in.
  • Comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support other site locations as needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as required.

The MedicalOffice Assistant (MOA) plays a critical role in assisting healthcareproviders with direct patient care.

Thisposition requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience. Qualifiedcandidates must possess strong knowledge of medical terminology, communicationskills, organizational skills, and a patient-focused attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and prepares medical records to ensurecompleteness prior to patient exam, obtaining missing documentation. Documents clinic visit, in EMR system.
  • Greet patients, check-in patients, verify andvalidate patient information.
  • Performs clerical duties and completes work lists,and other administrative duties during admin-time.
  • Schedule patient appointments in EMR system,ensuring patient information is accurate and patient is scheduled asrequired, per provider scheduling procedures.
  • Obtains, verifies, and updates patient insuranceinformation.
  • Requests, locates, sends, receives and maintainsoffice/department and patient records.
  • Exhibits an excellent and high degree of courtesy,tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and otherhealthcare professionals.
  • Ensure patients complete registration forms andother required forms at check-in.
  • Ensures compliance with legal issues including butnot limited to patient confidentiality and risk management; ensurescompliance with OSHA, federal, state and local regulations.
  • Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in patient flow,acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality workflowprocedures and metrics.
  • Provide Medical Office Assistant clinical support for other sitelocations as needed.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in compliancewith HIPPA guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Five (5) years of Medical Office experience(Required)
  • Certified Medical Office Assistant (Preferred)
  • Ability to proficiently operate and performcomputer-related tasks with specific office equipment and softwareapplications (Required)
  • Must possess andmaintain a valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:

Thephysical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing,hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitivemotion. Must have good balance and coordination. The physical requirements ofthis position are medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionallyand/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently. The MOA is required to haveclose visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision toperform an activity, such as assessing patients, and analyzing data andfigures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
