Job Review:
The medical office assistant is responsible for greeting patients, checking patients in, checking patients out, answering and directing telephone calls, and communicating with the team for patient needs. Will perform duties as needed for the communities served, in a manner that reflects the physical, psychological, and spiritual healing ministry of Christ.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
-checking patients in and out from their visits
-answering telephone calls and directing as needed
-collecting insurance and copayments
-Scanning documents in to the EMR
-Performing reminder phone calls for patient appointments
-filling provider schedules
Position has opportunity for growth. Floating to outreach offices may be a requirement of this position; outreach locations include Santa Claus, Washington, French Lick, Petersburg, and Montgomery depending on the location of the candidate
RequiredCertifications/Licenses/Experience:
-High School Graduate/GED
Preferred Certification/Licenses/Experience:
-Two years of college or business school
-Minimum of one year in a healthcare related role
-Knowledge of coding, insurance billing procedures, medical terminology
