Job summary

DDCN in Omaha, NE is seeking a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant to provide both administrative and clinical support to patients per established protocols and procedures. The role involves coordinating appointments, handling documentation, and assisting RN with diagnostic testing and patient communication.

Ideal candidates will have strong customer service, meticulous attention to detail, and solid computer skills including MS Office.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Schedules and monitors patient appointments.
• Performs general office duties as needed by the department.
• Demonstrates professional telephone and interpersonal communication techniques.
• Performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation.
• Schedules procedures/diagnostic testing as delegated by RN.
• Completes Prior Authorization request for medications and equipment.
• Abstracts lab results from outside facilities.
• Contacts patients and families of normal lab results as delegated by RN.
• Assists with chart preparation.
• Orders clinic and office supplies to ensure adequate inventory by anticipating area usage and needs.
• Takes appropriate action to ensure equipment is functioning and ready to use.
• Utilize interpersonal skills with both internal and external customers in daily duties.
