Job summary

ADVANCED CHENEGA SERVICES, LLC at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to support DPALS. The role covers hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank and cytology, performing high-complexity tests and ensuring accurate specimen processing.

The MLT will maintain quality control, comply with CLIA/OSHA/HIPAA, perform phlebotomy, assist with training, and contribute to process improvement while safeguarding patient safety and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Graduate from NAACLS or ABHES accredited MLT program or equivalent AMT program.
• ASCP or AMT certification/registration required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 1 year post-graduation MLT experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and lab information systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-complexity clinical lab tests in hematology, chemistry, cytology, histotechnology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology and blood bank.
• Ensure accurate specimen processing and timely testing to support patient care.
• Prepare specimens for transport to another facility or for mailing.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement quality control procedures and validate test results for accuracy.
• Adhere to CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient health data.
• Perform phlebotomy services and ensure patient comfort during collection.
• Assist with training and participate in process-improvement initiatives.
