Akron Children's is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to collect, process, and test specimens from patients of all ages to aid in disease diagnosis. The role requires precision, adherence to quality standards, and proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and computer systems.

Responsibilities include following specimen collection procedures, performing tests across disciplines, reporting results per policy, calibrating and troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining compliance with

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Technology or related science with internship or equivalent.
• ASCP Technician certification or eligibility.
• 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience preferred.
• Experience with LIS and MS Office preferred.

Responsabilités

• Collect and process specimens per procedure.
• Perform tests across disciplines with accuracy.
• Report results according to policy.
• QC, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment; document actions.
• Follow hospital and lab policies; proper specimen handling and recordkeeping.
• Notify physicians of critical results within policy.
• Maintain neat, safe work area.
• Perform additional duties as required.
