Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for a PRN AM/PM shift. The MLT will provide essential laboratory services for inpatients and outpatients, perform routine and automated testing, and ensure high-quality results to support patient care.

Qualified candidates hold an Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and active MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent). The role requires handling specimens, performing quality controls, and maintaining equipment and records

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
• Active MLT certification (ASCP, NBTC, AMT, AAB or equivalent).
• Ability to perform waived, moderate and potentially high complexity testing with competency assessment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing for inpatients and outpatients.
• Collect specimens, including venipuncture, with patient-appropriate Techniques.
• Conduct quality control, verify instrument operation and troubleshoot issues as needed.
• Maintain accurate records for quality control and proficiency testing.
• Train new staff and students as assigned and maintain competency requirements.
