Job summary

Fairview Health Services invites a Medical Laboratory Technician to join M Health Fairview Clinic - Highland Park on a full-time basis. Primary hours are 12:00 p.m.–8:30 p.m.

Monday through Friday with one weekend every fourth weekend, serving Highland Park Urgent Care and potentially Midway or Riverside clinics. The MLT will perform waived to moderate/high complexity testing, follow SOPs, ensure specimen integrity, operate analyzers, and contribute to quality assurance within a collaborative

Qualifications

• Associate or higher degree in a related laboratory field with practicum or equivalent for moderate complexity testing.
• Degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science from an accredited institution.
• Diploma or transcript proving field of study.
• 60 semester hours with biology and chemistry.
• Completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course with required degree/credits.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specimens following SOPs and perform waived to high complexity testing as applicable.
• Verify patient identity and specimen integrity; report results per procedures.
• Operate laboratory instrumentation and information systems per SOPs.
• Maintain quality control, reagents, and calibrators; document deviations.
• Communicate abnormal or critical results to caregivers and resolve discrepancies.
