Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician at Stephens Hospital in Maine. The role performs and monitors laboratory testing, confirms and reports results, and ensures instrument maintenance for accuracy and quality control. The position offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance where applicable.

Eligible applicants include those with an Associate’s degree in MLT and certification within six months of hire. Relocation and temporary housing support may be available.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a similar field is required.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician within six months of hire by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT) is required.
• May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Laboratory Technician role is responsible for independently performing and monitoring laboratory testing of patient specimens and confirms, interprets, correlates, and reports normal and abnormal patient results and recognizes technical problems and initiates resolutions.
• Responsible for accuracy, quality control and required instrument maintenance.
