Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Inc. in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for Tuesday–Saturday shifts from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The role offers a pay range of $29.13–$48.06 per hour with potential annual bonus compensation and extensive benefits.

Requirements include 1 year of high-complexity lab experience, preferred 3 years in the current department, and a BS/BA in Medical Technology or related field. ASCP certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• ASCP Certification preferred; United States educational credentials may apply.
• Experience with high complexity testing and CLIA-compliant workflows.
• Proficient in instrument maintenance, QC, and data entry into LIS.

Responsibilities

• Must demonstrate proficiency in all areas of testing and be proficient troubleshooting all applicable instruments/procedures in the department.
• Provides support to the department in quality control, troubleshooting complex problems, customer support, instrument and equipment maintenance, staff training, process improvement and the completion of special projects as assigned.
• Perform and report on assigned analytical tests in accordance with SOPs ensuring QC requirements are met.
• Adhere to laboratory policies for specimen handling, processing, reporting and record keeping.
• Enter test results into the Laboratory Information System for standardized report to be generated for physician review.
