Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for a Monday to Friday schedule, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM with rotational weekends. This hospital-based role involves performing tests of moderate/high complexity and using independent judgement.

You will work with quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and report test results in the Laboratory Information System while adhering to CLIA/HIPAA and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience with most current year in present department.
• BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform and report assigned analytical tests following SOPs with quality control.
• Support QC, troubleshoot complex problems, and assist with equipment maintenance.
• Enter results into the Laboratory Information System for physician review.
• Maintain safe, sanitary lab areas and comply with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA policies.
• Assist with staff training and participate in process improvement projects.
• Adhere to scheduling requirements to maintain timely reporting of results.
