Job summary
Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II in Hackensack, NJ, working Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with rotational weekends. This hospital-based position performs moderate/high complexity tests with independent judgment and responsibility in qualified specialties.
Responsibilities include testing, instrument troubleshooting, QC, data entry into LIS, and ensuring compliance with CLIA/HIPAA/OSHA.
Qualifications
- BS/BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology or an Associates degree in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology.
- ASCP Certification preferred and licensure as applicable.
- Minimum one year of full-time experience with high complexity testing.
Responsibilities
- Perform test procedures of moderate/high complexity with independence and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot instruments, support quality control and process improvements.
- Enter results into LIS and ensure timely reporting to physicians.
- Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and safety requirements; participate in inspections as needed.
- Train or assist with training of staff and support supervisor as needed.
