Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist for a full-time Days shift at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL. The role covers hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, and/or microbiology with emphasis on accurate results and timely reporting.

The candidate will perform high-complexity testing per CLIA standards, troubleshoot instrumentation, and participate in quality control and training activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medical Technology/MLS with appropriate CLIA qualifications.
• MLT certification if using an associate pathway.
• Ability to perform high-complexity testing per CLIA 493.1489.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests across hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, and microbiology.
• Maintain quality control, troubleshoot instrumentation, and report results timely.
• Provide training and mentoring to laboratory staff and partners.
